Vending Machine Uses Facial Recognition

A Japanese Company has manufactured a vending machine that uses facial recignition to recommend a drink for the person standing in front of it. There is already a working model placed at a Tokyo train station and more are projected to be placed in Japan.

There are sensors in the machine that detects a persons gender and age. Going through a computer system, it will make a recommendation for what type of beverage that person is most likely to enjoy. A data that includes suggested products for certain type of person in addition to the temperature of the environment and time of day will ensure a sale and a happy customer!

Ultra vend technology works by infra red beams of light that criss crosses over the drop product bin. If the product does not drop and pass through the infra red sensor, then the machine will know it has not successfully dropped the product.
